This week is Computer Science Education Week. It is dedicated to inspiring all students to learn computer science and making sure that all students have opportunities to explore a future in computer science. The week is held in recognition of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper who helped create the first commercial electronic computer.
Across the school this week, we have had assemblies to celebrate. In Primary the students learnt about Ada Lovelace, the first computer programmer, and heard about some modern computer science heroes who are helping revolutionise the world we live in. In Secondary we learnt about Grace Hopper and Cesar in Form 11 explained to everyone how he managed to become a crypto expert. With dedication and ability to anticipate and diagnose problems, everyone is able to become a Computer Scientist!
We have also completed the Hour of Code and developed our coding skills alongside millions of other students around the world!
