On Wednesday, two days after the Axiom-2 mission launched from the Kennedy Space Centre on SpaceX Falcon 9, OBS students had the privilege to connect live with John Shoffner, one of the 4 astronauts that are currently off-orbit in the International Space Station. It really was a thrilling live encounter!

Students were open-mouthed in amazement as John demonstrated the realities of living in a microgravity environment, and he answered questions from our students from a range of Forms about everything ranging from the scientific research that John and the crew are conducting, to the preparation required to become an astronaut, to applications of AI in the future of space flight.

It was a genuinely inspiring treat for everyone involved! We hope John will come to visit us in the Autumn back here in Earth.
