Form 6 students have been learning about muscles and bones in Science. In particular they have been exploring antagonistic pairs of muscles and the function of ligaments, tendons and cartilage in joints. To help them understand the nature of these they dissected a chicken wing to find the pair of antagonistic muscles that makes the wing move. Pulling on the correct muscles they could make the chicken wing wave. Form 6 also isolated the tendons, ligaments and cartilage to explore their texture, strength and elasticity.
