Form 5 World War 2

On Friday 6th November, the Form 5 children participated in an immersive World War 2 day, thoroughly enjoying the chance to dress up in 1940s-style outfits.

It began with the children experiencing what school was like during wartime, where the strict rule was that “children should be seen and not heard.”

They made gas mask boxes, played traditional skipping games and had great fun learning traditional skipping songs. In keeping with the wartime theme, the children made their own chocolate potato sandwich spread by following a ration-friendly recipe.

The children fully embraced the day, putting great effort into each activity. While it was an educational experience tied to their topic of ‘Conflict’, they had a lot of fun, making it a memorable and fitting conclusion to their learning.
