Wellbeing & Mental Health

Oporto British School (OBS) promotes positive mental health and wellbeing for the whole school community and recognises how important mental health and emotional wellbeing are in everyone’s lives in just the same way as physical health. The school recognises that children’s and students’ mental health is a crucial factor in their overall wellbeing and can affect their learning and achievement in significant ways. The role of staff at OBS is to ensure that children and students can manage change.

Children are supported to reach their potential and to access help when they need it most.

All OBS staff have the role to ensure that everyone learns about what they can do to maintain positive mental health and be aware of the factors that affect their mental health. The school works to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health issues and where provide support networks where children and students can safely go if they need help.
