Duke of Edinburgh: The Expedition – Form 9 and 11 Edition

On the 7th and 8th of May Form 9 and 11 students participated in the International Duke of Edinburgh award completing their practice expedition. On the 14th and 15th of May, they went straight into their final expedition. Legs aching, shoulders a little sore, they were a margin quieter and a tiny bit more prepared.

Everyone came together in their teams to set up the campsite, cook their meals and follow their maps. Lessons learnt from the previous journey meant they barely missed a step and all successfully followed the routes around the area.

Miss Smith, Mr O´Keeffe, Ms Woodcock, Mrs Robertson, Mr Sellers and Mrs Sellers have all remarked how impressed they were with the students, their teamwork, camaraderie and positive spirits. This was felt throughout the weekend from team members saying to each other “I am proud of us!” to singing and cheering as the final group made it to the end.
