Prep Ladybirds explored the story of the Little Red Hen, acting it out and cutting detailed markings to make a beautiful free-standing craft. Children learned about the importance of helping out and reaping the rewards together.
We kneaded dough to make bread and churned milk into butter. We all enjoyed the delicious warm bread with the freshly made butter.
After churning milk into butter they carried on exploring more dairy products. Each child melted a chocolate square in warm milk to make hot chocolate.
It was magical to see how one plain yogurt turned into 7 pots of yogurts we could share and savour with honey or cinnamon. Banana ice-cream made with milk and lemon juice was the final treat.
