Form 4 Roman Day

Form 4 children donned their togas and tunics for our Roman Day celebration. They showed critical thinking skills in a scavenger hunt that involved finding the origins of some English words in our Latin lesson. In Maths, they showed problem solving skills completing activities to practise Roman numerals such as “matchsticks” and creating a coin with their birthyear, and even had a game of Roman Bingo! They created their own shields and worked together in tight formation to practice some military drills – Dex, Sin, Dex, Sin – Atente! The day culminated in a wonderful Roman feast, with bread made by the children and a selection of Roman themed food!
