After reading the tale ‘Family Ties’ in Portuguese class, we discussed topics related to family, family relationships and toxic relationships present in many family environments. We then reflected on freedom, culminating in our activity of writing a message to Clarice Lispector, the author of the tale. We placed this message inside a balloon before releasing it, symbolising freedom and hope in the face of difficult situations, whether family or personal.
