Earlier this term, Molly Costello travelled to Sintra to celebrate her achievements as one of the first Duke of Edinburgh Youth Ambassadors for Portugal.

This event marked the conclusion of the first year of having Youth Ambassadors in the country and provided a wonderful opportunity for all the Ambassadors to meet in person for the very first time.

The evening concluded with a group speech from the Ambassadors, followed by the presentation of certificates recognising their outstanding contributions to the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme throughout the year. The certificates were presented by a representative from the British Embassy, as well as the President and National Director of the Duke of Edinburgh Portugal.

As a team, they successfully recruited eight new schools to join the award scheme, promoting its global significance and highlighting the vital role Youth Ambassadors play in advancing the program. As the first cohort of Ambassadors in Portugal, they have set a strong foundation for future representatives and ensured the continuation of the scheme and its positive impact on young people.
