In Form 2 this week we had a James and the Giant Peach theme day. The children (and teachers) dressed as characters from the book. The classrooms were transformed into ‘peaches’ with orange colours, authentic sounds of the sea, and the smell of peach.
The children did a minibeast hunt outside looking for bugs that appeared in the story. They also designed their own cloud men and weather machines for them. In Mathematics the children were then challenged to work our some Roald Dahl word problems.
The day was completed by tasting pieces of peach as part of their lunch.
