Form 4 exploring the solar system

Form 4 children enjoyed taking their reading outdoors and working together and racing to find out more wonderful facts about the planets and our solar system.

They had a unique opportunity to speak to two inspirational space personalities, Peggy Whitson (first female chief Commander at NASA and female world record holder for the most spacewalks) and John Schoffner, astronaut and researcher, who are both preparing for their next voyage aboard the Axiom-2 in early 2023.

Both classes had the chance to find out what it takes to be an astronaut and the preparation needed for such a mission. The space pilots shared with the children some of their favourite photographs and anecdotes which bought their Science and Humanities topic of Space to life. They are all excited to follow their space voyage next year and are keen to start planning their own mission later on this term.
