A talented group of Form 8 and 9 students travelled to Lisbon this week to compete in a major inter-school tournament, and emerged as finalists in an enthralling and very disputed competition. Over the three days of the competition, they beat Oeiras International School (OIS) 63-20, defeated the American School of Lisbon (CAISL) 41-36, won their game against St. António’s 65-31, defeated O Parque 36-29 and St. Julian’s B 31-8. In the quarter final they met St Julian’s and emerged victorious (27-24). A nerve-wracking semi-final against Nobel Algarve followed on Saturday with OBS clinching their place in the final by one point in the final minute. In the final they met CLIP, and another exciting game saw the lead change hands in the final minutes, before CLIP were able to win 40-35. Many congratulations to our basketball players!
