Form 11 IA Biology Collection

We are delighted to share with you the success of our recent Biology IA Data Collection Day, where our students spent two days engaged in scientific exploration and inquiry. The research included investigations on the antibacterial properties of some cooking ingredients, examining the effects of alcohol and nicotine on the integrity of cell membranes and ideal conditions for using enzymes in industry, amongst others. Our students demonstrated a commendable commitment to advancing their scientific understanding. While the days presented some challenges and an occasional stubborn microbe colony, our Biology students exhibited resilience and resourcefulness, embracing the importance of thorough preliminary research and adaptability in the face of obstacles.

We were thrilled to welcome back our recent alumna, Maria Cerqueira, currently pursuing her studies in biomedical science at Queen Mary University. Maria generously shared her insights and practical advice, offering invaluable guidance not only on data collection techniques but also on the broader journey of academic development and navigating the exciting process of choosing a field of study.
