Celebrating Pi Day with enthusiastic learners

Pi Day, celebrated on March 14, brought an exciting blend of mathematics and competition to our Key Stage 3 (KS3) students this year. With the fascinating mathematical constant pi (π) at its core—approximately 3.14—students from Forms 6, 7, and 8 engaged in a memorable challenge to recite as many digits of pi as possible.

The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and friendly rivalry as students prepared for the challenge, demonstrating their dedication to the subject.

Reciting digits of pi not only tested their memory but also deepened their appreciation for a number that has intrigued mathematicians for centuries.

The results were impressive and showcased the remarkable abilities of our students. In the Form 6 category, the winner stood out by successfully reciting an impressive 62 digits of pi. In the Form 7 category, the winner raised the bar even higher with an astounding 72 digits and the grand prize for Form 8 was claimed by a staggering 110 digits!
