Prep Ladybirds explored winter throughout January

The children learnt to knot cord onto a twig to make a chilly scene and explored the notion of half and quarters to make some winter loving birds to leave a chilly impression in the corridor.

We explored the musical story of “Peter and the wolf” and learned about various instruments. Prep children also painted some gorgeous illustrations with good attention to detail.

This week we had a lovely icy afternoon exploring ice and becoming familiar with animals from the polar regions, attempting to build an igloo as well as finding out who had the longest scarf by comparing lengths. In Physical Education the little “penguins” were active whilst learning about making choices between fleeing their predators and feeding their young.
